Faculty of Agriculture, University of Madura, collaborates with Artodung Village to develop integrated agriculture

Pamekasan – Fakultas Pertanian bersama Pemerintah Desa Artodung resmi menandatangani kerja sama strategis pada 2 Oktober 2025. Kolaborasi ini dilandasi tujuan bersama untuk mengembangkan potensi desa di sektor pertanian, peternakan, dan perikanan, sekaligus memperkuat implementasi Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi melalui pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat.

Kolaborasi ini dilandasi tujuan bersama untuk mengembangkan potensi desa di sektor pertanian, peternakan, dan perikanan, sekaligus memperkuat implementasi Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi melalui pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat.

In the interview, the Faculty of Agriculture explained that this cooperation was aimed at creating a sustainable integrated agricultural system. "The main target is the application of appropriate technology, increasing community capacity through training, as well as optimizing local potential. Artodung Village community will benefit from increasing knowledge, skills, productivity, to economic welfare. While the faculty obtains strategic partners for practice, research, and service," said the faculty representative.

The scope of cooperation includes agricultural cultivation, animal husbandry, fisheries, to community economic empowerment through processed products. Implementation strategies are designed gradually and participatory, starting from potential surveys, counseling activities, to pilot projects such as catfish cultivation, organic fertilizer production, and ruminant animal feed. The signing of the MoU has been carried out as a concrete step to ensure implementation runs according to plan.

Furthermore, the Faculty of Agriculture and Village Artodung has a long -term vision to make Artodung a superior fostered village. This hope is realized through the creation of applied education and research ecosystems based on community needs, as well as the development of agricultural technology innovations that can be a reference for other villages. "The sustainability of cooperation will be maintained through routine monitoring and strengthening local institutions so that the community is able to be independent," added the village representative.
