Madura University and Malang State University Establish Research Cooperation

unira.ac.id (Monday, 02/17/2025) Madura University (Unira) and Malang State University (UM) officially signed a cooperation agreement (PKS) in the field of joint research between research and community service institutions ( LPPM) from both universities. This event took place in the Seminar 1 Room, Graha Rectorate 6, UM, starting at 12.00 to 14.00 WIB. A number of leaders and representatives from the two universities also attended, including Unira Rector Dr. Drs. Ec. Ghazali, M.M., Chair of LPPM Unira Dr. Ukhti Raudhatul Jannah, M.Pd., and Deputy Rector I Unira Dra. Sri Harini, M.Pd. From the UM, UM LPPM Chair Prof. Dr. Markus Diantoro, M.Sc., Secretary of LPPM UM Dr. Hary Suswanto, S.T., M.T., as well as the Head of the LPPM Center also attended. The presence of these stakeholders shows the seriousness of the two institutions in strengthening academic synergy.

Chairman of LPPM UM, Prof. Dr. Markus Diantoro, M.Sc., in his remarks stated that this cooperation was a strategic step in improving the quality of research and scientific publications. This collaboration is expected not only to produce superior research, but also has an impact on community service, he said. According to him, UM has a long experience in academic research and is ready to share resources with Unira to increase research competitiveness at the national and international levels. He also stressed the importance of the involvement of lecturers and students in a joint research project so that the benefits can be felt more broadly. With this cooperation, he is optimistic that UM and Unira can create innovative and sustainable research models.

Unira Chancellor, Dr. Drs. Ec. Ghazali, M.M., emphasized that partnerships with UM were strategic steps in strengthening research ecosystems at Unira. We want to build a more inclusive and collaborative research environment, where research results can provide concrete solutions for the community, he said. He also hopes that this cooperation can increase the number of scientific publications of Unira lecturers in reputable journals. In addition, Unira is committed to continuing to expand academic networks with various other universities to enrich the insights of researchers and students. With the research exchange program, he is optimistic that Unira can achieve its academic targets more quickly.

Chairman of LPPM Unira, Dr. Ukhti Raudhatul Jannah, M.Pd., said that this cooperation opened a great opportunity for Unira lecturers and students to be involved in high-quality research. We are very enthusiastic because this is an opportunity for our researchers to collaborate with UM academics who have broad experience in scientific research and publications, he said. He also added that in the near future, Unira and UM will begin to design a joint research project in accordance with the needs of the community. In addition, a joint seminar and workshop will be part of this cooperation program to increase the academic capacity of the two institutions. With the joint funding, he believes the research produced will be more leverage and have a broader impact.

The PKS signing ceremony was also attended by several important officials from the two universities. From the UM, present Dr. Imam Mukhlis, S.E., M.Sc., LPPM UM Program Sub -Coordinator, as well as the LPPM UM General and Finance Sub -Coordinator. Meanwhile, from Unira, Achmarul Fajar, M.M. (Head of Unira Data and Information Center), and Ainur Rofiq Hafsi, M.Pd. (Unira Research Head). The presence of these officials shows that cooperation that exists is not only administrative, but also involves various strategic elements in each institution. With the full support of various parties, it is hoped that the implementation of this joint research program can run smoothly and provide benefits to the academic world and the community.

With the establishment of this cooperation, UM and Unira are committed to continuing to expand collaboration in the fields of research, scientific publications, and human resource development. The two universities hope that the research conducted can contribute to the development of science and improve the welfare of the community. In addition, this synergy is also expected to become a model of cooperation between tertiary institutions in increasing academic competitiveness in Indonesia. In the future, UM and UNIRA will conduct periodic evaluations of this cooperation program to ensure its sustainability. We believe this synergy will provide great benefits for the two institutions and be an inspiration for other universities, concluded the Rector of Unira, Dr. Drs. Ec. Ghazali, M.M.
