PAMEKASAN – Tim mahasiswa Universitas Madura (UNIRA) kembali menorehkan prestasi membanggakan di kancah nasional. Delegasi UNIRA berhasil meraih Juara 3 dalam ajang bergengsi "Business Plan Competition (BPC) Aktive 2025" yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Solo.
The UNIRA team, which received assistance from the University of Madura, successfully presented an innovation in natural pesticide products made from Madurese salt.
The competition with the theme "Youth Entrepreneurship for a Sustainable World in 2045!" This was followed by various well-known universities in Indonesia. The UNIRA team had to go through tough competition against the 10 best finalists, including representatives from the University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), Bina Nusantara University, Sriwijaya University, Hasanuddin University, Yogyakarta State University (UNY), and host Sebelas Maret University (UNS).

Innovation "Saltpro", Natural Pesticide from Madurese Salt
The success of the UNIRA team cannot be separated from their brilliant innovation which highlighted Madura's local potential, namely salt. This team presented a product called "Saltpro", a natural pesticide formulated from salt combined with other natural ingredients.
Through theoretical studies, research and direct field trials, "Saltpro" has been proven to be effective. The team has applied it to local farmers' plants and bonsai plants, with significant results in preventing and eradicating various types of pests and fungi that are detrimental to plants.
"We analyzed the benefits of salt, which has great potential in Madura, to be used as a natural pesticide. We presented and tested this product in front of a jury of professors in the competition," said one of the team members.
The journey to achieve 3rd place went through various strict selection stages, starting from registration, proposal selection (proposal submission), to culminating in the final presentation and question and answer session with a team of expert judges.
Product Development and Downstream Plan
This victory is not the end, but rather the first step for the team to develop "Saltpro" further. The team plans to follow up on this innovation so that it is ready for mass marketing.
Rencana pengembangan mencakup strategi pemasaran modern dengan konsep digital marketing melalui berbagai platform media sosial. Selain itu, tim akan segera mendaftarkan temuan inovatif ini untuk mendapatkan hak paten (hak cipta) guna melindungi orisinalitas karya mereka.
The big hope is that "Saltpro" can be an alternative solution for farmers and plant lovers in Indonesia. This product offers advantages not only in terms of price which is more economical and efficient compared to chemical pesticides, but also the added value of being environmentally friendly.
